Monday 10th July Report

Racing on Monday evening was sponsored by U Drive Karting, which saw round 2 of the Ministox Sword of State, and round 1 of the Production Rods Gold cup and Bangers Commissioners Cup.
Race 1 of the 1st Choice Windows Ministox saw Jordan Halligan-Bunce take an early lead before being passed by Ted Davis on lap 4. Harry Watson then took the lead and race win from lap 7 followed by Ted, Jack Dobson, Halligan-Bunce, Pemma Nissanka and Josh Watson. Jordan was also awarded the trophy for top white and yellow roof driver. Race 2 saw Jordan take the lead and a flag to flag victory with Ted second and Harry third. Jordan looked set to repeat his victory in race 3 until Ted managed to find just enough power on the exit of the last turn take the victory from Jordan and Josh Watson. The U drive karting trophies were awarded to Ted Davis, Jordan Halligan-Bunce and Harry Watson. Going into the final round the points for the Sword of State is Ted Davis - 30 points, Harry Watson - 28, Jordan Halligan-Bunce - 24, Josh Watson - 17, Jack Dobson - 14, Pemma Nissanka - 12. Due to a clerical error last week this week was only the second round not the final round which was stated in last Thursday’s press release.
The Onchan Raceway production rods were next out on track competing in round 1 of the Gold cup with a clutch start rather than the usual rolling start. India Cowin held on to the early lead until she was caught and passed on lap 7 by Robert Hooper who held on to take the victory from India and Josh French. Race 2 saw India again take an early lead before Robert regained control of the race, both India and Sarah Wass lost control and spun on lap 8 causing the race to be temporarily stopped to clear the track before the cars re-gridded for the last 2 laps. Robert took the win from Josh and Leonie Marchbank. Robert again took the victory in race 3 followed by India and Josh. The U Drive Karting trophies were awarded to Robert Hooper, Josh French and India Cowin with India also receiving the Victory Lane ladies award.
The action packed A & J Butchers bangers out next with plenty of thrills and spills to entertain the crowd. The first round of the Commissioners cup, Ashley Harrison took the lead from the green flag not to be caught followed by Spud Collister and Dan Moore. Race 2 saw Ashley repeat his winning ways from race 1 again followed by Spud Collister with Jason Collister taking third. Race 3 saw Jason Collister and Peter Kelly crash on the first corner ending their race, Ashley Faragher took the victory leading from the green flag with Harrison second and James Griffiths in third. The U Drive Karting trophies were awarded to Ashley Harrison, Spud Collister and James Griffiths.
The Mann construction Formula 2s were last out. Mikey Booth was back and took the early lead until a crash on lap 3 ended his evening, Terry-John Rigaux made his season debut also ending very early on after spinning on lap 2 and then suffering mechanical issues. Paul Fearn took the victory from Dougie Kinrade, Dave Sutcliffe and Kevin Hooper. Race 2 again saw Paul take the win from Dougie and David 3rd. Paul made it a hat trick of wins in race 3 from Dougie and David. The U Drive Karting trophies were awarded to Paul Fearn, Dougie Kinrade and David Sutcliffe.
