WINDOW WIZARD MINISTOX
Jaks bar and grill sponsored the opening round of the second half of the stockcar season at Onchan Raceway on Sunday. The Ministox were first out on the track and Ben Kelly made a great return after his crash in the last meeting leading race one until the halfway point where Josh Watson passed him. J. Watson won the race from Harry Watson, Jordan Halligan-Bunce, Jack Dobson, Pemma Nissanka, Kelly and Jake Hooper. Race two saw Kelly go from the flag not to be caught to claim his maiden victory leaving the other cars battling for the remaining podium places, Halligan-Bunce took second from H. Watson, Dobson, Nissanka, J. Watson and Hooper. Kelly showed it wasn’t a one off in race three and again went from the green flag not to be caught while the remaining drivers showed some great close contact racing, Dobson emerged in second from J. Watson, H. Watson, Nissanka, Halligan-Bunce and Hooper. The Jaks trophies were awarded to Ben Kelly, Harry Watson and Jack Dobson, Kelly also picked up the white and yellow top drivers award.
A&J QUALITY BUTCHERS BANGERS
The bangers were next out entertaining the crowd with plenty of bumper action and spinning cars, Lee Jordan claimed the victory in race one from Steven Guest and Ste Collister. Jordan again gained the lead on lap two of race two not to be caught to claim his second victory of the afternoon followed by Ste Collister and Steven Guest. Making it a hatrick, Jordan again won race three from Ste Collister and Nick Collister. The Jaks trophies were awarded to Lee Jordan, Ste Collister and Steven Guest.
SWIFT MOTORS PRODUCTION RODS
The production rods saw eight cars out on the track Colin Clague made his debut and led the first race giving him a win by a comfortable margin ahead of Ed Douthwaite, Tina Quayle, Sarah Wass and Nick Ford. Clague continued to dominate in race two again claiming the victory from Douthwaite, Quayle, Ford and India Cowin. Clague made it a hatrick of wins in the final race from Douthwaite, Ford, Wass, and Quayle. The Jaks trophies were awarded to Colin Clague, Ed Douthwaite and Tina Quayle with the latter also awarded the victory lane ladies award for top lady driver.
MANN CONSTRUCTION FORMULA 2’S
The Formula 2s were hampered by mechanical issues Dougie Kinrade won race one from Robert Hooper after Kevin Hoopers car broke down on lap 2 of the race. Race two saw Dougie Kinrade suffer mechanical issues ending his afternoons racing. Robert Hooper won the race from K. Hooper who was out in Josh Dallimores car who had suffered from an incident in practice. Race three saw a photo finish for father and son with Robert just clinching the victory from Kevin. The Jaks trophies were awarded to Robert Hooper and Dougie Kinrade.
The afternoon ended with the mid season demolition derby, Jordan Brown, Ste Collister, Ashley Harrison, Grant Crellin and Steven Guest went out to entertain the crowd launching over the ramp placed on the start finish straight before the carnage struck. All drivers put in some big hits, Crellin wiped out both Guest and Collister before ending his own race with the damage caused. Harrison was the last man running in his van used for the van demolition at the previous meeting while continuing to circulate the track launching his van over the ramp to entertain the crowd he went in for one last crash striking Guest’s stricken car on the main straight and rolling his van, Harrison climbed out to the cheers of the crowd and did a lap of honour with the chequered flag, trophy and prize money on the bonnet of Browns car.
