The Barbary Coast grill and bar sponsored Monday evening’s stock car meeting. After heavy showers the sun came out and made for a great nights racing. The Window Wizard Ministox were first out with Ben Kelly taking the early lead before waved yellow flags saw the cars being held on the track after Pemma Nissanka lost control and spun on to the infield being caught by Josh Watson as he spun. The green flag dropped again and Kelly led until Harry Watson come through on lap 7 to claim the chequered flag ahead of Jordan Halligan-Bunce, J. Watson, Nissanka and Kelly. Race two saw Halligan-Bunce come through on lap three to race to victory ahead of Nissanka, J.Watson, H.Watson and Kelly. Race three saw H. Watson make a fast start leading from lap four, Kelly took a comfortable second place while Halligan-Bunce came out on top of the battle for third with J. Watson and Nissanka after some great close action. H. Watson led race four to make it a hatrick of wins ahead of J. Watson, Nissanka and Halligan-Bunce. The Barbary Coast trophies were awarded to Harry Watson, Jordan Halligan-Bunce and Josh Watson with Ben Kelly claiming the white and yellow top drivers award.

The Swift Motors Production rods were next out and although low on numbers the six cars provided lots of close, fast action. Georgina Moore led from flag to flag to claim the honours in race one ahead of Mike Craine, Josh Ffrench, Mark Hargreaves, Tina Quayle and Lauren Miller. Moore continued her winning ways in race two leaving the remaining cars to battle for the lower placings, Craine came in second ahead of Ffrench, Miller and Hargreaves. Moore made it a hatrick in race three pushed hard throughout the race by Craine and Ffrench who were constantly swapping positions throughout the race, Hargreaves took fourth ahead of Miller. Race four was again won by Moore, with Craine second, Ffrench just took third after a close battle with Hargreaves with Miller taking fifth. The Barbary Coast trophies were awarded to Georgina Moore, Mike Craine and Josh Ffrench with Moore also taking home the Victory lane ladies award.

The A&J Butcher’s Bangers were last out with plenty of thrills and spills from the drop of the green flag in race one Dylan Cormode led the opening laps before hitting the fence ending his race, Tony Pitt come through to take the lead and looked set to win until Lee Jordan spun him to claim the honours ahead of Steven Guest with Chris Crellin third. Race two had to be restarted after Grant Crellin lost a wheel, colliding with the fence and left stuck on the track. Jemma Moore led the opening laps of the restarted race until Chris Crellin took the lead on lap four, Jordan came through to claim the victory in the closing laps ahead of Crellin, and Guest. Race three was filled with plenty of action, Nick Collister and Jake Walmsley both were victims of crashes ending their race. Ryan Edmunds led the race until Jordan came through to make it a hatrick to claim the chequered flag ahead of Edmunds and Guest. Race four saw three of eight starters complete full race distance, the race was brought to a halt on lap four to remove the stricken vehicles. Jordan quickly made it to the front of the restarted grid to claim maximum points for the evening ahead of Gary Crellin and Edmunds. The Barbary Coast trophies were awarded to Lee Jordan, Steven Guest and Chris Crellin.

The next Stockcar meeting will be held on Sunday (MAD SUNDAY) 2ndJune with gates opening at an earlier time of 6pm, racing gets underway from 7pm.
