Stock car racing returned to Monday evening this week and was sponsored by Window Wizard Glazing. The Mini Stox were first out, Ben Kelly took the early lead in race one before Harry Watson made his way to the front with 1 lap to go, H.Watson won from Kelly, Pemma Nissanka, Jordan Halligan-Bunce, Josh Watson and Jake Hooper. Race two saw Jake Hooper control the race from start to finish taking his first victory of the season followed by Kelly, H.Watson, Nissanka, Halligan-Bunce and J.Watson. Hooper led the opening stages of race three before Halligan-Bunce took the lead on lap four taking the chequered flag from Kelly, H.Watson, J.Watson and Hooper. Race four saw Kelly in control claiming the honours ahead of Halligan-Bunce, H.Watson, J.Watson and Hooper. The window wizard trophies were awarded to Ben Kelly, Harry Watson and Jordan Halligan-Bunce, Kelly was also awarded the top white and yellow driver award.
The Bangers were next and they didn’t fail to entertain the crowds with race one having to be red flagged and restarted at the end of lap one to remove damaged cars after Charles Sigley collided with the fence on the start/finish straight, Ryan Edmunds, Gary Crellin and then race winner Lee Jordan all led the restarted race, G. Crellin took second from Edmunds, Jemma Moore, Ashley Harrison, Steven Guest and Robert Hooper. Race two saw Jemma Moore pull away from the chasing pack to maintain a good lead, before the race was red flagged after Dylan Cormode rolled on the exit of turn three. Moore continued to lead the restarted race until Jordan came through to take the flag on the last lap from Nick Collister, Harrison, Guest and Hooper. Jordan made it three from three in the third race of the evening, Edmunds was second with Guest third. To seal the overall Honours Jordan again made his way to the front of the pack to win ahead of Guest, Edmunds and Grant Crellin. The Window Wizard Trophies were awarded to Lee Jordan, Steven Guest and Ryan Edmunds.
Production Rods were the last formula on the track, Georgina Moore dominated race one from the green flag crossing the line ahead of Josh Ffrench, Lauren Miller, Mark Hargreaves, Becky Hands and Tom Richards. Moore continued her winning ways in race two taking the chequered flag ahead of Ffrench, Hargreaves, Richards, Miller and Hands. Richards, Moore and Ffrench closely contested race three with Richards just taking the honours from Moore, Ffrench, Hargreaves, Miller and Hands. Ffrench took the lead from Richards at the half way point of the final race to take the flag ahead of Hargreaves, Richards, Moore, Hands and Miller. The Window Wizard trophies were awarded to Josh Ffrench, Georgina Moore and Mark Hargreaves, Moore was also awarded the Victory Lane ladies award. Racing resumes next Monday evening 13thMay at 7:30pm with spectator gates open at 7pm.
