Ocean View’s Restaurant sponsored Sunday afternoon’s stock car racing held in great conditions, with the 2021 racing season coming to an end the last three meeting’s signalled the start of the Sword of State for the Junior Rod’s and Bangers and also the Production Rod’s Dagger of Honour, providing fast, close racing throughout the afternoon.
The Chemical Services White’s and Yellow’s race got proceedings underway with #800 Macauley Teare taking the honours ahead of #113 Sorcha Wade, #444 Tillie Stapleton and #118 Harry Merryweather.
The Window Wizard Junior Rod’s then all lined up on the grid to contest their first race, Macauley Teare again made a quick start leading from start to finish taking the honours narrowly ahead of brother #119 TJ Teare, #58 Rio Osborne took third ahead of #825 Cian Peers, #26 Shannon Moore, #33 Shane Ellison, #41 Nicole Astell-Burt, Sorcha Wade, Tillie Stapleton and Harry Merryweather.
Race two saw a couple of stoppages to remove the stricken cars from two separate incidents, Sorcha Wade made a quick start leading each time until TJ Teare came through towards the end of the race claiming the honours ahead of Sorcha Wade, Macauley Teare, Shane Ellison, Nicole Astell-Burt, Shannon Moore, Tillie Stapleton and Harry Merryweather.
Race three saw Macauley Teare again make a quick start and claiming another victory ahead of brother TJ, Sorcha Wade, Shane Ellison, Nicole Astell-Burt, Tillie Stapleton and Harry Merryweather.
Completing the hat-trick in the main races Macauley Teare took the chequered flag again in the final race ahead of TJ Teare, Nicole Astell-Burt, Shannon Moore, Shane Ellison, Sorcha Wade, Tillie Stapleton and Harry Merryweather.
The Ocean Views trophies were awarded to :- 1stMacauley Teare, 2nd TJ Teare, 3rd Sorcha Wade with Macauley also awarded the White’s and Yellow’s trophy.
The A&J Butchers Bangers were next out with carnage in race one #23 Jemma Moore spun out and then #24 Lee Jordan, #179 Jordan Halligan-Bunce and #666 Nick Collister all crashed together leaving only Lee Jordan running to take the honours.
Race two saw only Lee Jordan and Jemma Moore enter the track (while the others franticly repaired their car’s) with the two starting opposite sides of the track in a pursuit race, Lee Jordan closed the gap crossing his line before Jemma crossed her line each time and claiming maximum points.
Race three saw Jordan Halliday-Bunce claim the honours ahead of Lee Jordan with Nick Collister and Jemma Moore both crashing out.
The final race of the afternoon saw just the two cars compete again starting opposite each other, Lee Jordan closed the gap crossing the line ahead of Jordan Halligan-Bunce.
The Ocean Views trophies were awarded to :- 1st Lee Jordan, 2nd Jordan Halligan-Bunce and 3rd Jemma Moore.
The Mike’s Motor’s Production Rod’s were last out on track to entertain the crowd, with it being the Dagger of Honour each race began with a clutch start.
Race one saw #36 Rhys Brown look set to take the honours until #46 Steve Luton made a dash on the last corner to pass Rhys and take the victory Rhys held on to second ahead of, #34 Jamie Dale, #538 Ian Kneale, #98 Jordan Dougherty and #88 Callum Tilley.
Race two saw Rhys Brown again take the early lead holding on to take the honours ahead of Ian Kneale, Jamie Dale, Callum Tilley, Jason Dougherty and Steve Luton who limped across the line after damage caused him to slow.
Race three was ended early after Jamie Dale collided with a tyre rolling her car, she climbed out to applause from the crowd. Rhys Brown was awarded the win from Ian Kneale, Jason Dougherty and Callum Tilley.
The final race of the afternoon saw Rhys Brown complete the hat-trick ahead of Jamie Dale, Callum Tilley and Jason Dougherty.
The Ocean View’s trophies were awarded to :- 1st Rhys Brown, 2nd Jamie Dale and 3rd Ian Kneale.
Racing resumes next Sunday at 2pm. Spectator gates open from 1pm.
