Old Lonan Church Farm (O.L.C.F) sponsored Monday evening’s stockcar meeting.
First out on the track were the Junior Rods, the first race of every meeting this season will be for the white and yellow roof drivers racing for the Chemical Services championship. #119 TJ Teare continued his fine form claiming another victory, #118 Harry Merryweather picked up second ahead of #800 Macauley Teare who made an excellent debut claiming third, #11 Kian Staniford was fourth with #111 Sam Cracknell in fifth, all the novice drivers are showing great pace and improvement.
Race two saw all ten youngsters out on track, racing for the Window Wizard point’s championship. TJ Teare made a quick start to claim another fine victory, #825 Cian Peers took second with #33 Shane Ellison claiming third, #41 Nicole Astell-Burt led #26 Shannon Moore, #58 Rio Osborne, Harry Merryweather, Kian Staniford and Macauley Teare over the line with Sam Cracknell unfortunately retiring.
Race three saw some excellent racing throughout the pack, TJ Teare again claimed the chequered flag ahead of Shane Ellison, Cian Peers, Nicole Astell-Burt, Kian Staniford, Shannon Moore, Rio Osborne and Harry Merryweather.
The final race of the evening saw Tj Teare take another clean sweep, followed by Nicole, Shane, Cian, Rio, Harry and Kian.
The Old Lonan Church Farm trophies were awarded to :-
1st TJ Teare, 2nd Shane Ellison and 3rd Cian Peers.
The Mike’s Motors sponsored Production Rods were second out on track and again saw some great, close racing throughout the evening.
Race one saw #46 Steve Luton take the chequered flag ahead of #357 Jamie Turnbull, #88 Callum Tilley, #358 Mark Hargreaves and #538 Ian Kneale, #420 Lee Freestone unfortunately picked up damage colliding with the safety fence ending his evening early.
Race two saw another great race between Jamie Turnbull, Mark Hargreaves and Steve Luton through the closing stages, Jamie held on to take the honours ahead of Mark who just pipped Steve, Callum picked up fourth with Ian fifth.
Race three saw another great battle for first with Jamie Turnbull managing to hold off strong challenges from Steve Luton to take his second victory of the evening, Mark Hargreaves and Ian Kneale also had a great battle for third with Mark holding on to claim third, Ian fourth and Callum fifth.
Race four saw Jamie make it a hat trick taking the final chequered flag of the evening followed by Steve, Mark and Callum, mechanical issues saw Ian retire.
The O.L.C.F trophies were awarded to 1st Jamie Turnbull, 2nd Steve Luton and 3rd Mark Hargreaves.
The A&J Quality Butchers Bangers were last out on track, #259 Martin Faid made a great start in race one before #24 Lee Jordan came through in the closing stages to take the honours with Martin holding on for second, #18 Grant Crellin third, #77 Robert Hooper took fourth after spinning #171 Ryan Edmunds who recovered to take fifth.
Race two saw Martin Faid hold on to claim the honours Lee Jordan raced his way to second with Ryan Edmunds taking third, #23 Jemma Moore took fourth, Robert Hooper fifth and Grant Crellin sixth.
Race three was again won by Lee Jordan with Martin Faid taking second followed by Grant Crellin, Robert Hooper and Ryan Edmunds.
Martin took the final chequered flag of the evening with Grant not far behind to take second, Jemma held on to claim third ahead of Lee, Ryan and Robert who limped round the track with a puncture.
The O.L.C.F trophies were awarded to :-
1st Martin Faid, 2nd Lee Jordan and 3rd Grant Crellin.
Racing resumes next Monday 17thMay at 7:30pm with gates opening at 7pm. Re grading takes place after the next meeting which will see starting positions changing.
In the next few weeks we will be introducing an additional class of BASIC BANGER’S car specifications will be available on our website www.onchanraceway.com and Facebook pages early next week, with the intention to hold races for this new class from Monday 31stMay.
