Stockcar Racing resumed at Onchan Raceway on Monday evening in perfect conditions, the meeting was sponsored by Onchan Raceway Karting.
First out on track were the Chemical Service sponsored white and yellow Junior Rod roof drivers, #119 TJ Teare maintained his unbeaten record to take another fine victory ahead of #118 Harry Merryweather and #11 Kian Staniford.
Race two saw all of the Window Wizard sponsored Junior rods out on track and again TJ Teare made a great start to record another flag to flag victory, #41 Nicole Astell-Burt took second holding off strong challenges from #33 Shane Ellison and #825 Cian Peers, ever improving newcomer Harry Merryweather finished fifth ahead of #58 Rio Osborne, Kian Staniford and #26 Shannon Moore.
Race three saw TJ Teare again take the honours ahead of Nicole Astell-Burt, Cian Peers, Shane Ellison, Harry Merryweather, Kian Staniford, Shannon Moore and Rio Osborne.
Making it another clean sweep TJ claimed the honours in race four ahead of Shane, Cian, Harry, Rio, Kian and Shannon.
The Onchan Raceway Karting trophies were awarded to 1st TJ Teare, 2nd Shane Ellison, 3rd Cian Peers.
Next out to entertain the crowd was the A&J Quality Butchers Bangers, with bumpers being used and cars being spun out of the way from the drop of the green flag #24 Lee Jordan came out on top in race one ahead of #259 Martin Faid, #18 Grant Crellin, #23 Jemma Moore and #171 Ryan Edmunds, #666 Nick Collister was spun early on ending his race.
Race two saw more action with Martin Faid holding off Lee Jordan until the two laps to go board was shown, Jordan went on to take the honours from Martin Faid. Grant Crellin and Ryan Edmunds with Jemma Moore and Nick Collister both not finishing.
Race three saw plenty of action in the opening stages with Ryan Edmunds spinning Nick Collister and Grant Crellin spinning Ryan Edmunds, Lee Jordan and Jemma Moore both managed to work through the carnage, Martin Faid was looking set to claim the honours when lee Jordan spun him out of contention taking a third victory ahead of Grant Crellin, Jemma Moore and Ryan Edmunds.
Race four saw the red flags come out with one lap to go after Martin Faid caught an infield marker tyre flipping onto his roof, Lee Jordan took the chequered flag ahead of Ryan Edmunds and Grant Crellin.
The Onchan Raceway Karting trophies were awarded to 1st Lee Jordan, 2nd Grant Crellin and 3rd Ryan Edmunds.
The Mike’s Motors sponsored Production Rods were next out on track with race one being stopped on lap two to recover #357 Jamie Turnbull’s car, a complete restart was called. A last lap attack saw #46 Steve Luton snatch the victory from #420 Lee Freestone, #358 Mark Hargreaves took third ahead of #538 Ian Kneale, and newcomers #65 Danny Glennerster and #34 Jamie Dale.
Lee Freestone took the honours in race two ahead of Steve Luton, Mark Hargreaves, Ian Kneale, Danny Glennerster and Jamie Dale.
Race three saw another good battle for the honours between Lee Freestone and Steve Luton, Lee held on to take the flag ahead of Steve, Mark Hargreaves, Ian Kneale, Jamie Turnbull, Danny Glennerster and Jamie Dale.
Lee made it a hat trick in race four again holding off strong challenges from Steve who took second ahead of Mark, Jamie, Ian, Danny and Jamie Dale.
The Onchan Raceway Karting trophies were awarded to 1st Lee Freestone 2nd Steve Luton and 3rd Mark Hargreaves.
Regrading now takes place, based on the championship points scored so far this season, which will change the starting order of driver’s for future races.
Racing resumes next week Monday 24thMay at 7:30pm with gates opening at 7pm.
