Ocean Views sponsored Monday evening’s stock car racing, the damp conditions created a greasy track.
The Chemical Services whites and yellow race got proceedings underway with a first lap incident on the slippery track leaving #800 Macauley Teare and #113 Sorcha Wade out of the race. #118 Harry Merryweather took control of the restarted race followed by newcomer #444 Tillie Stapleton taking second in her maiden race ahead of #111 Sam Cracknell.
The Window Wizard Junior Rod’s were next out on track, #26 Shannon Moore took the early lead while #58 Rio Osborne lost control on turn four spinning but regaining motion and joined the rear of the pack. Shannon Moore held on to take the win ahead of #33 Shane Ellison, #119 TJ Teare, #825 Cian Peers, Harry Merryweather, Tillie Stapleton and Sam Cracknell.
Race two saw Rio Osborne make a great start finishing clear of the chasing pack, Shannon Moore held on for second ahead of TJ Teare, Cian Peers. Shane Ellison, Sorcha Wade, Harry Merryweather, Tillie Stapleton and Sam Cracknell.
Race three saw plenty of action with a stoppage at the end of lap 3 after some close racing saw Cian Peers make contact with the fence, he recovered to join the restarted race. After some spectacular racing Shannon Moore held on to claim the honours from Rio Osborne, Shane Ellison, TJ Teare, Cian Peers, Harry Merryweather, Sorcha Wade, Tillie Stapleton and Sam Cracknell.
Race four saw Rio Osborne take another clear victory ahead of Shannon Moore, Cian Peers, Shane Ellison, TJ Teare, Sorcha Wade, Harry Merryweather and Sam Cracknell.
The Ocean Views trophies were awarded to :- 1st Shannon Moore, 2nd Rio Osborne and 3rd Shane Ellison. Harry Merryweather was awarded the whites and yellow driver’s race winner’s trophy.
The A&J Quality Butchers Bangers were next out with #171 Ryan Edmunds straight in with the bumper spinning #179 Jordan Halligan-Bunce, #24 Lee Jordan took out #980 James Exon, Lee Jordan won the race ahead of Nick Collister and Ryan Edmunds.
Race two saw more action with Ryan Edmunds, Lee Jordan and Nick Collister all being spun or spinning someone, Jordan Halligan-Bunce crossed the line just ahead of Lee Jordan but due to the spin to win rules Lee Jordan took the honours from Jordan Halligan-Bunce and Nick Collister.
Race three saw Lee Jordan take the early lead, Jordan Halligan-Bunce spun Nick Collister to take second then Lee Jordan came through spinning Nick Collister back out to take the chequered flag ahead of Jordan Halligan-Bunce.
Lee Jordan again dominated the final race of the evening taking his fourth chequered flag of the meeting ahead of Ryan Edmunds and Nick Collister.
The Ocean Views trophies were awarded to 1st Lee Jordan, 2nd Nick Collister and 3rd Jordan Halligan-Bunce.
The Mike’s Motors Production Rod’s were last out on track with #34 Jamie Dale making a good start in race one before #46 Steve Luton came through to take the win from Jamie Dale, #358 Mark Hargreaves was third and #88 Callum Tilley fourth.
Race 2 saw Mark Hargreaves and Steve Luton battling throughout the race with Steve narrowly taking the honours as they crossed the line, Jamie Dale took third ahead of Callum Tilley.
Race three saw Mark Hargreaves hold on to clinch the honours from Steve Luton after another race long battle between the pair, Jamie Dale held on to take third ahead of CallumTilley.
The final race of the evening saw Steve Luton narrowly claim his third victory of the evening ahead of Mark Hargreaves, Jamie Dale again took third with Callum Tilley fourth.
The Ocean Views trophies were awarded to 1st Steve Luton, 2nd Mark Hargreaves and 3rd Jamie Dale.
Racing resumes next Monday 23rdAugust at 7:30pm with spectator gates opening at 7pm.
