Barbary Coast Bar and Grill sponsored Monday evening’s meeting held in perfect conditions. Jack Dobson led the way in the Window Wizard Ministox dominating race one from lap 2followed by Harry Watson, Pemma Nissanka, Jordan Halligan-Bunce, Josh Watson and Ben Kelly. Technical issues hampered Jake Hoopers race seeing him pull off as the green flag was dropped. Race two saw Jack lead from the opening lap to claim his second victory of the evening ahead of Josh Watson, Harry Watson, Jordan Halligan-Bunce and Ben Kelly. Jordan Halligan-Bunce led the opening laps of race three before Dobson passed on lap four to hold on to win from Halligan-Bunce, Harry Watson, Pemma Nissanka, Josh Watson, Jake Hooper and Ben Kelly. To claim his fourth victory of the night Jack Dobson took an early lead not to be caught Jordan Halligan-Bunce came through in second ahead of Harry Watson, Pemma Nissanka, Ben Kelly and Jake Hooper. The Barbary Coast trophies were awarded to Jack Dobson, Harry Watson and Jordan Halligan-Bunce with Ben Kelly taking the top white and yellow top driver award.
The Mann Construction Formula 2’s were next, Robert Hooper led the opening stages of race one before handling issues saw him spin, Dougie Kinrade passed to take victory from Kevin Hooper and Robert Hooper. Robert Hooper again led race two before Dougie passed in the closing stages to claim victory number two ahead of father and son, Kevin and Robert Hooper. Dougie Kinrade made in a hatrick of wins followed home by Kevin and Robert Hooper. The Barbary Coast Bar and Grill trophies were awarded to Dougie Kinrade, Kevin Hooper and Robert Hooper.
The A&J Quality butchers bangers were next and although down on numbers on previous weeks they still provided the crowd with plenty of action, Jake Clague started where he finished last week, taking the lead in race one from Lee Jordan, to claim his first victory of the evening finishing ahead of Ste Collister and Ashley Harrison. Jake again dominated race two pushed hard by Collister and Harrison, this time Harrison got the better of Collister to take second with Collister third. Replicating his hatrick last week Clague held on to his lead to take the chequered flag ahead of Collister and Harrison again. The Barbary Coast Bar and Grill trophies went to Jake Clague, Ste Collister and Ashley Harrison.
The Swift Motors Production rods continued to provide plenty of action throughout the evening, with lots of fast, close racing. With sixteen cars out on track. Nick Ford emerged the winner from the restart of race one after the stricken cars were removed, ahead of Rebecca Hands, Lee Merryweather, Tina Quayle, Sarah Wass and Darren Hudgeon. Rebecca Hands dominated from lap five of race two to hold on to claim her first victory of the night ahead of Nick Ford, Antony Aspell, Lee Merryweather, Tina Quayle and Lauren Miller. Rebecca again led the way in the final race of the evening winning from Nick Ford, Antony Aspell, Lee Merryweather, Sarah Wass and Tina Quayle. The Barbary Coast Bar and Grill trophies went to Rebecca Hands, Nick Ford and Lee Merryweahter, with Hands also claiming the Victory Lane Ladies award.
Racing resumes at Onchan Raceway on Mad Sunday 3rd June at the slightly earlier time of 7pm featuring the van ramp race and Demolition Derby and Thursday 7th June at 7:30pm in which we are hoping to hold a banger chain race!
