Thursday saw another action packed meeting at Onchan Raceway sponsored by Mann Construction and again blessed with great weather and a large crowd.




The Ministox were first out when newcomer Ben Kelly held onto the lead and showed he can hold off and battle with the more experience34675020_10160350009090368_5800974364044165120_nd drivers, Jack Dobson managed to take the lead on lap 5 closely followed by Jordan Halligan-Bunce, the race was brought to a rapid halt in the closing stages when Ben Kelly and Harry Watson came together on the pit straight sending Ben’s car up the fence and coming down on the bonnet of Harrys car. All drivers were checked out and the race was declared based on the last completed lap. Jack Dobson took the victory ahead of Jordan Halligan-Bunce, Ben Kelly, Pemma Nissanka, Harry Watson, Josh Watson and Jake Hooper. Race two saw Jordan Halligan-Bunce take the lead from the green flag until the last two laps when Dobson came through to claim his second chequered flag of the evening ahead of Halligan-Bunce, H. Watson, J. Watson and Nissanka. Jordan Halligan-Bunce led from start to finish in the final race of the evening pushed hard from the lap boards by Josh Watson who took second ahead of Harry Watson, Jack Dobson and Pemma Nissanka. The Mann Construction trophies were awarded to Jordan Halligan-Bunce, Jack Dobson and Harry Watson with Ben Kelly taking the award for top white and yellow top driver.






Formula 2’s were next. Robert Hooper took the early lead before being passed by Kevin Hooper who held on to take the lead, both Robert Hooper and Josh Dallimore had handling issues which left Josh unable to finish race one. Race two saw Robert Hooper lead from the flag challenged by Kevin Hooper who eventually pushed his way to the front taking the chequered flag from Josh Dallimore and Robert Hooper. Race three was again won by Kevin Hooper with Robert Hooper taking second and Josh Dallimore third. The Mann Construction trophies were awarded to Kevin Hooper, Robert Hooper and Josh Dallimore.






34685758_10160350008680368_1540856028956983296_nThe Bangers, although low on numbers on previous weeks, didn’t fail to entertain the crowds. Race one saw Steve Francis lead until lap 5 when Ste Collister took the lead to win from Jake Clague and Lee Jordan. Race two had to be stopped and complety restarted on lap 2 after Jake Clague rolled his car but landed back on all four wheels and after a quick check over of his car all was deemed safe for him to return to the track and continue with the restarted race, Ste Collister won the race with Jake Clague taking second and Steven Guest third. Race three was won by Jake Clague after he managed to make his way to the front on lap 8 winning from Ste Collister and Steven Guest. The Mann Construction trophies were awarded to Ste Collister, Jake Clague and Steven Guest.






The Production Rods provided lots of fast, close racing. Brandon Parker led race one until Nick Ford managed to take the lead on the final lap to claim the victory ahead of Brandon Parker, Georgina Moore, Josh Ffrench and Antony Aspel. Race two was led by Brandon Parker before Sarah Wass took control on lap six, Wass won from Nick Ford, Josh Ffrench, Tina Quayle and Antony Aspel. Brandon Parker led race three before Nick Ford came through to take his second victory of the night ahead of Brandon Parker, Georgina Moore, Sarah Wass and Tina Quayle. The Mann Construction trophies were awarded to Nick Ford, Brandon Parker and Sarah Wass who also took home the Victory Lane ladies award.

Lee Jordan and Ryan Edmunds, Jake Clague and Grant Crellin, Ste Collister and Ashley Harrison and Steve Francis and Jason Moore all entertained the crowds with lots of crashing and spinning while racing to complete the ten laps race distance, all eight drivers put on a great show to entertain the crowds and close the first half of the racing season, Lee Jordan and Ryan Edmunds were declared the winners of the race being the first two to complete full race distance.




Racing will resume on Sunday 24th June at 2pm with the mid season deomiltion derby.
