Window wizard sponsored Tynwald Day’s stock car meeting held in great conditions.
The Window Wizard Junior Rods got the action underway with #825 Cian Peers, #26 Shannon Moore and #17 Elsie Horton joining last week’s drivers to increase the field to seven cars.
Cian Peers and #33 Shane Ellison showed great pace quickly making their way to the front of the race, Ellison took the lead at the half way point before car troubles ended his race early, Peers went on to claim his maiden victory ahead of #58 Rio Osbourne, #41 Nicole Astell-Burt, Shannon Moore,, #10 Kian Staniford and Elsie Horton.
Race two again saw a great battle between Peers and Ellison, with Peers claiming his second chequered flag of the afternoon ahead of Ellison, Osbourne, Moore, Staniford, Astell-Burt, and Horton. Ellison looked set to take the victory in race three until earlier gremlins returned leaving his car powerless. Peers managed to sneak through and narrowly take the honours crossing the finish line ahead of Ellison who held on to second ahead of Osbourne, Moore, Astell-Burt, Staniford and Horton. Peers and Ellison again showed great pace and race skills in the final race of the afternoon with Peers making it a full house and claiming his fourth race win ahead of Ellison, Osbourne, Astell-Burt, Moore, Staniford and Horton.
The Window Wizard trophies were awarded to 1st Cian Peers 2nd Rio Osbourne and 3rd Shane Ellison, Cian Peers was also awarded the Robin Smith memorial shield
The Swift Motors Production Rod’s were next out and this week saw the first round of their Gold Cup to be held over three meetings and a clutch start for each race, #10 Mike Craine made a winning return to claim the honours in race one after a great race between himself, #358 Mark Hargreaves and #22 Nick ford who took second and third respectively, #44 Saul Stapleton claimed fourth ahead of #356 Stuart Allen. Craine again raced to victory in race two ahead of Ford, Hargreaves, Stapleton and Allen. Ford claimed the honours in race three ahead of Craine, Stapleton and Allen with Hargreaves left watching from the centre field after his car broke down. Ford managed to come through on the last lap of race four to take the honours from Craine, Stapleton and Allen.

The A&J Butcher‘s Bangers were last out on track and as usual didn’t fail to entertain the crowd, with eleven cars on the grid race one was set to be entertaining from the drop of the green flag, #24 Lee Jordan made his way through to the front of the pack on lap 8 to claim the honours ahead of #8 Ste Collister, #188 Ashley Harrison, #728 Tom Westbrook, #77 Robert Hooper, #171 Ryan Edmunds, #23 Jemma Moore and #71 Steven Guest. Race two saw #18 Grant Crellin take the chequered flag ahead of Collister, Jordan, ex Ministox champion #179 Jordan Halligan-Bunce and Moore. Race three had to be stopped to remove debris and fix the safety fence after a collision involving Jordan, #313 Stephen Smithies and Crellin, Collister went on to win the restarted race ahead of Moore and Halligan-Bunce.

Racing returns to regular Monday evening’s throughout the rest of July and August starting this Monday 13thJuly at 7:30pm, spectator gates will open at 7pm and we’ll have the junior rods, production rods and bangers back out on track.
