Barbary Coast sponsored the last Monday evening stock car meeting of the season held on a wet and slippery track after heavy rain in the afternoon.
The A&J Quality Butchers bangers were first out on the track, Jemma Moore led the opening race until the mid way point when Gary Crellin came through to take control and claim his first victory of the evening ahead of James Cain, John Garrod, Dave Sutcliffe, Jemma Moore, Grant Crellin, Robert Hooper and Steven Guest. Race two saw carnage all around the track with the waved yellow flags being shown on lap five to clear the cars strewn around the track, Sutcliffe won the restarted race from Guest and Moore. The carnage continued in race three which was also brought to a halt to remove cars damage stricken cars from around the track, Gary Crellin was declared the race winner ahead of Sutcliffe, Hooper, Ryan Edmunds and Guest. Sutcliffe claimed his second victory of the evening in race four ahead of Hooper, Edmunds and Guest. Crellin returned to win race five followed by Hooper, Guest, Edmunds and Sutcliffe. The Barbary Coast trophies were awarded to Dave Sutcliffe, Gary Crellin and Robert Hooper.
The Swift Motors production rods race one saw 6 laps of close, fast action with Georgina Moore holding off challenges from the rest of the pack, Mark Hargreaves found his way to the front on lap seven to take the chequered flag ahead of Darren Hudgeon, Moore, Mike Craine and Josh Ffrench. Race two saw Hargreaves make a quick start leading from lap two staying ahead to claim his second victory of the night followed by Craine, Nick Ford, Hudgeon, Moore and Ffrench. Hargreaves continued his winning ways in race three to make it a hatrick ahead of Craine, Ford, Hidgeon, Ffrench and Moore. Race four saw Hudgeon get the better start holding off Hargreaves until lap seven, Hargreaves won with Hudgeon holding onto second ahead of Craine and Ffrench. The Barbary Coast trophies were awarded to Mark Hargreaves, Mike Craine and Darren Hudgeon with Gerogina Moore picking up the victory lane ladies award. Racing resumes for the season finale this Sunday with action getting underway at 2pm, spectator gates open at 1pm and the meeting will conclude with the end of season demolition derby.
